Various feminist organizations and LGBTQI+ groups expressed their rejection of President Javier Milei's statements, which, as they indicated, promote violence and roll back legislative advancements in equality and rights.
From the group Women of the Latin American Matria (MuMaLá), they pointed out that it is essential to combat hate with feminism and organization, highlighting that Milei's government actions have increased the vulnerability of women and LGBTQI+ individuals, as well as attacked laws and the Constitution.
The Argentine Federation of LGTB+ and the Argentine Homosexual Community (CHA) also expressed their concern over the threats and violent attitudes of the president, urging unity and action to protect the rights that have been achieved.
Representatives of the Pride March and other organizations from the LGBTQI+ community, as well as political parties, feminist groups, and human rights defenders, have called for an "antifascist" demonstration in rejection of Milei's speeches.
Various political figures, including Myriam Bregman and Esteban Paulón, have supported the call and criticized the president's discriminatory stances, urging mobilization as a means of defending diversity and equality. The Huésped Foundation has also joined the rejection, emphasizing the resistance of pride and love in times of threats.
In light of the planned call for February 1st, the different organizations expect a massive mobilization from the National Congress to Plaza de Mayo as a demonstration against speeches that promote violence and intolerance.
